2017 Alumni Project – Get Involved
We are excited to announce that we are embarking on an exciting project to tell the stories of the lives of our wonderful alumni, from those that graduated from Dodderhill some time ago, to those who have only just moved on to the next chapter of their lives.
If you are a Dodderhill ‘Old Girl’, we are keen to hear from you and any stories or information you’d like to share for our special project. This project forms the foundation of a wider alumni programme, that will be established in the very near future.
To get in touch about participating, or for more details about the programme, please email Cat Ridley-Hughes, our Marketing Officer (please be assured, we wont publish any details you share without your permission).
We look forward to hearing from you!
Alumni Past and Present..
Fiona started at the school in 2001, leaving six years later with a clutch of excellent GCSE grades. She studied for A levels in geography, biology and ICT in Worcester, attaining 2 As and a B in 2009.
Fiona then embarked on a gap year during which she travelled the USA, helped with a turtle rescue centre in Costa Rica and returned to assist in the development of ICT at Dodderhill. She also found time to pass her private helicopter licence!
Fiona now leaves us for the second time to start an exciting course in Computer Science with Natural Hazard Management at Chester University. We want to wish Fiona every success in the next stage of her career.
Laura Pearson received her Bachelor of Medical Science (1st Class Honours) in July 2007. Laura finished in the top quartile in her year and in her finals, in the top 5 scoring A’s across the board. Laura’s parents feel that her road to success was secured by the teaching, work ethic, and discipline she received in her years at Dodderhill. These gave her the foundations on which to build her susequent success she had at A Level and then at The University of Birmingham Medical School.
She is currently shadowing a junior Doctor prior to commencing her first year as a Foundation Doctor at Sandwell Hospital (her 1st choice) where she will work in rotations of three four month blocks starting with General Surgery – Gastroenterology, then General Surgery – Colorectal and finally Paediatrics. This is followed by a second year of rotations before specialising!
