Picture opposite: Laura Pearson, as she received her Bachelor of Medical Science (1st Class Honours) in July 2007. Laura finished in the top quartile in her year and in her finals, in the top 5 scoring A's across the board. Her parents feel that Laura was set on the road to success by the teaching, work ethic, and discipline she recieved in her years at Dodderhill. These gave her the foundations on which to build the subsequent success she had at A Level and then at The University of Birmingham Medical School.
She is currently shadowing a junior Doctor prior to commencing her first year as a Foundation Doctor at Sandwell Hospital (her 1st choice) where she will work in rotations of three four month blocks starting with General Surgery - Gastroenterology, then General Surgery - Colorectal and finally Paediatrics. This is followed by a second year of rotations before specialising!
