Dear Mrs Mawston
I just read this blog and I too thought the joke was hilarious - one which Abi had forgotten to tell me about! I hope you had a great Christmas and all I can say is I wish my school had been so much fun too! Abi, Neil and I will be sad to leave Dodderhill behind this Summer but I am sure Abi will always remember the happy times she has experienced at Dodderhill and have very fond memories too. In the meantime, here's to continued revision! Maria Smith x

Hello Mrs Mawston! It really was absolutely hilarious when Mr Cross told us that we had left Mrs German behind! I was laughing so much I could hardly breathe, but at the same time I felt so sorry for her! And when Mrs Thomas stood up and told us it was all a joke, I have a feeling everyone actually felt very disappointed that we couldn't go home and tell our parents that a member of staff had been left behind! The carol service was fantastic! I agree with Father Doug, the singing really had never sounded better! We're all very glad that you enjoyed it, and I hope you have a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year, and I'm looking forward to the Spring Term, as we are going to Barcelona in February!

Hello Charlotte

Thanks for your comment- the Festival of Arts was really fun as well as very competitive! Good to see that the Lloyd minorette is making her own mark at Dodderhill. I'm sure there will be more moments of glory for you to share !
Best wishes

Hello Mrs Mawston,
The music and art festival was great, I loved every minute of it!
Izzie Schoch's painting was definitely a winner, when she first showed us in our form room, I couldn't believe my eyes!
I missed most of Friday's assembly because I had a cello lesson, so I unfortunately missed my little sister's small moment of glory, which she kept going on about all the way home! I'm really pleased that Westwood won, although it was probably very close considering that we were 3rd on Thursday. "Daisy pulls it off" was great when we got to watch every house's part, because it all made sense when you watch the whole thing! I especially loved your comment at the end about the squash and cake, when you suddenly said "Oh Jubilate!", it made us all laugh!
I hope you are having a relaxing holiday, it seems to have flown by already!

Dear Aimee

You were a worthy victor in the head to head- at least I learnt a lot and how to accept that in mathematical terms I've been left behind by Year 9. I think Oscar will start to pay a few longer visits to school, he does get excited when he arrives in the morning and wants to go and visit everyone. I know everyone misses him, but he does have a great time playing with other dogs during the day.

Keep having fun

Hello Mrs Mawston,

Thank you very much for taking part in my groups Maths Presentation ! I hope that the questions weren't to challenging !! I felt very honored when i got chosen to go against you in the "head to head", and it was great fun !
I miss seeing Oscar after school so i can take him for a walk ! but it is good to see him in the mornings hiding under the computer desk not wanting to go the "doggy day care" !
I hope to see him again soon
At the moment we are all very busy doing the arts festival next week, which if anything like the Eisteddfod will be great fun and come on BOOKER !!! :)
See you Soon

Hello Isabelle

It really was a funny way to start off a Friday! Poor Mr Cross, what bad luck to have his birthday on a Saturday and have it clash with an Open morning. I'm sure it was a memorable birthday for him and not in the least bit irritating? We will have to eat more cake this week as well- "let them eat cake" the new school motto?- we seem to be doing quite a lot of cake eating at the moment, all for good causes though!
So much happening at school - that's what makes the weeks fly by- before you know it we will be on half term!
Oscar is well- he meets the 'early gang' before going to 'doggy day care', he will be making more special appearances over the next few weeks.

Have fun

Dear Charlotte

Thanks for sharing the story about Molly- oh dear! I must make sure I stay for longer next time - but I was already suffering from excess emotional stimulation which was leading to lachrymal overload from listening to the choir and Isabelle singing! Didn't think the prospective parents would understand why the Head was going around sniffing? The Lloyd family are the stuff of Dodderhill legend-I wonder if the school song should be "We are family". Perhaps your mum knows how that one goes, I'm sure Mrs Vinson does.

Best wishes

Hello Mrs Mawston!
It was very funny when Mrs Clancy's phone went off in assembly! My friends and I were looking at each other thinking, 'Was that a phone? Ooh, whoever that phone belongs to is going to get into big trouble!' and then it turned out to be Mrs Clancy's! And when Mrs Vinson started to play 'Happy Birthday' quietly in the background, I couldn't help but laugh! The Macmillan Coffee Morning was great, especially with all the lovely cakes! I am looking forward to the Arts Festival, which I am sure will be a great success! I enjoyed the Open Day too, though I did feel sorry for Mr Cross, who had the misfortune to have a birthday that fell upon the same day, spending yet more time with a bunch of quite irritating children! I hope Oscar is well.
