Competition & fitness

We encourage pupils to take part in individual and team sports, whether they are natural athletes or not. The chance to lead and be part of a team develops a healthy approach to competition; a positive attitude towards exercise makes Physical Education an important part of our curriculum.

We have excellent facilities - a spacious multi purpose hall, a gymnasium, two tennis courts, a grass athletics track and a hockey pitch.

PE lessons start in Kindergarten and choices grow as girls move through the junior school to the senior school.

Junior School pupils enjoy lessons in music and movement, dance, gymnastics, athletics, rounders, netball, swimming and hockey. Sports clubs (before, during and after school) include rounders, football, tennis, ballet, badminton, trampolining, modern dance, judo, games club and multisports.

Senior School pupils enjoy lessons in netball, hockey, athletics, rounders, badminton, aerobics and gymnastics. Sports clubs include tennis, ballet, trampolining, modern dance and judo.

Girls regularly compete at local, district, regional and national level in a variety of sports, individually and as part of a school team. We celebrate the achievements of our most talented sportswomen and the active participation of all team members.
