"By the time they reach Year 8 girls have been using a sewing machine for 3 years. Even an apparently simple project like making pyjama bottoms involves lots of different elements, choosing the fabric, using a commercial pattern and finally constructing a garment using a combination of hand and machine stitching. The girls are really proud of making something that they can actually wear."Mrs Bradley, Textiles Teacher
"Textiles is great because we have the ability to express ourselves using a variety of different techniques and materials."Becky
"It is very satisfying to create meals that my family enjoy eating. I am particularly keen on presentation, making sure that my food looks as good as it tastes."Kayleigh
